Jim McGrain, DVM

Jim McGrain is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine class of 2004. He is originally from Findlay, Ohio, where he obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Findlay. He grew up helping out on his uncle’s dairy farm. A neighbor who was a veterinarian had a tremendous influence on him and helped guide his path by exposing him to the veterinary field. Upon graduation in 2004 he was accepted into Rood and Riddle’s one year hospital internship program. After completion of the internship he spent 4 years in Camden, South Carolina where he worked on a variety equine athletes and companions, focusing primarily on lameness and performance of 2 year old thoroughbreds, steeplechase race horses, hunter/jumpers, western pleasure, reining QH, and barrel horses. He joined Deer Creek Equine Clinic in the summer of 2009. His personal interests encompass a wide variety of things including, hiking, shooting bow, playing about any sport, watching Ohio State football, playing the piano and guitar, and landscaping.
